Job Role: Handyman
Location: Leicester
Shift: Days - 8 Hours per day (can be flexible with start/finish times)
Pay Rate: £12.21 per hour

Overview:

A leading manufacturing business in the Leicester area are seeking a skilled and versatile Handyman to join their team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in various trade skills, factory and office cleaning and building and grounds maintenance. This individual should be capable of handling a variety of tasks and possess a proactive approach to problem-solving. If you have a passion for fixing, repairing, and maintaining facilities, and enjoy working in a dynamic environment, we would love to hear from you.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform general housekeeping tasks such as emptying the bins, recycling plastic and cardboard, removing any unused boxes, pallets etc

  • Conduct regular inspections to identify and address issues with building facilities and undertake general maintenance duties, such as basic repairs and painting

  • Replenish PPE, Hand Sanitisers, Hand Soap and other cleaning products

  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of work areas (factory, machinery, office, toilets) this includes cleaning and mopping floors. Respond promptly to maintenance requests from different departments

  • Receive, sign and deliver parcels as well as helping with unloading of containers

  • Adhere to safety guidelines and procedures in all tasks performed

  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure smooth operations

  • Complete any other duties as assigned by management

    Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a handyman or similar role

  • Proficiency in basic carpentry, plumbing, electrical work, and other maintenance tasks

  • Strong knowledge of tools, equipment, and materials used in building maintenance

  • Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work independently

  • Good physical condition and stamina

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

  • Ability to prioritise tasks and manage time effectively

  • Attention to detail and a focus on quality workmanship
