In this newly created, senior INTERIM engineering leadership role, we are seeking an exceptional Head of Engineering & Projects to join a growing global FMCG manufacturer.
Driving forward multi-million and BAU engineering projects, across multi-site manufacturing factories, as well as ensuring excellence in electrical standards, factory services and compliance

As the Senior Engineering & Projects Manager, leading 10 Direct reports, you’ll play a crucial role in shaping the engineering investment strategy, ensuring the seamless delivery of all CAPEX factory and services projects
Key responsibilities and duties: Interim Head of Engineering

Interim lead for the engineering function for the UK: nurture a best-in-class engineering function
Engineering Project Management: Oversee and LEAD a portfolio of engineering projects to the highest standards across several sites within the cluster - £10M+leading governance for expenditure
Factories are close enough to travel between them daily, you will lead utilities, automation, and maintenance best practice
Factory Services, Utilities Leadership: Drive the effectiveness of utilities, optimizing processes
Engineering Compliance Champion: Ensure all engineering activities meet industry standards
Team Development: Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of talented multi-disciplinary engineers and managers, promoting a culture of innovation, collaboration
Project Management Expertise: A track record of successfully managing complex projects
Strategic Vision: The ability to think big picture while also diving into the details
Support and lead CMMS
Oversight of regulatory compliance, project management, team development, and continuous improvement
Oversee the management of Capital Projects UK, leading electrical, services and UK engineering compliance
Serve as a trusted advisor to the UK Operations Director, and the UK site management teams on all matters related to engineering within the cluster
Optimise and improve the plant’s productive capabilities to meet business demands, including the provision and efficient use of utilities (gas, water, electricity, compressed air), while ensuring compliance with environmental

Skills And Experience Required – Interim Head of Engineering

Proven Leadership and senior stakeholder management: Significant experience in a senior engineering management role within the manufacturing FMCG related sector
This could include Food, Drink, Pharma and related consumer goods manufacturing, encompassing process and packaging
Ability to work across disciplines and within matrix structures – INFLUENCING SKILLS AND ENGAGEMENT ARE KEY - QUICKLY
Mechanical/electrical qualification or equivalent, ideally a degree even better if you are chartered!
5+ years of Engineering leadership experience; with exposure to FMCG environments ideal
Excellent People leadership skills to motivate, lead and drive projects
Track record of engineering project portfolio delivery
