We are currently recruiting for a Software Development Engineer in Test (SDET) on a permanent basis. The Test Engineer will produce high quality software services to support in building better experiences for our customers and to drive us towards being a true data driven, digital first organisation.

What you’ll do:

  • Work within an Agile squad that tests, builds and delivers industry leading software that focuses on the needs of our customers

  • Build high quality test automation and ensure the acceptance criteria for a product continue to be met over many future iterations

  • Proactively seek to prevent defects, review processes and promote continuous improvement throughout the testing lifecycle.

  • Carry out testing activities to create the end-end test plan and monitors the plan throughout projects to ensure our solutions are of exceptionally high quality and deliver features into production.

  • Analyse changes being made and ensure test coverage (manual and automation) is appropriate and written/coded to the esure testing standards as well as highlighting where quality/ standards are being compromised.

  • Engaging in our testing and tech forums as well as driving testing improvements and automation capabilities in your own squad and beyond.

    What we’d love you to bring:

  • A background in software testing is essential with a deep love of testing, automation and delivering quality, well tested solutions.

  • Experience with object orientated programming, preferably Java, Selenium and TestNg/Junit. Experience with API testing is also essential.

  • Must have experience in automation testing where you have actively created and maintained frameworks.

  • The ability to understand complex systems involving a combination of API, serverless, legacy Java platforms and databases.

  • Previous background working within high traffic, highly transactional online environments

  • Experience of working in an agile, SCRUM & Dev Ops delivery model

    The Interview Process (subject to change):

  • You’ll start with an introductory call with one of our Talent Partners. This is a ‘get to know you session’ and for you to explore the position in more detail.

  • 1st stage interview: 30 minute interview with one of our QA Leads

  • 2nd stage: 1 hour technical interview to showcase your automation and software engineering skills and experience with one of our QA Leads and Senior QA Engineers.
