Join Our Team as a QA Engineer!

Are you passionate about quality and driven by a desire to enhance system performance? We are seeking a talented QA Engineer to join our dynamic team for a 6-month temporary contract. As a pivotal member of our technology department, you will play a critical role in ensuring our software meets the highest standards of quality, reliability, and security.

Role: QA Engineer

Duration: 6 Months (extension options)

Location: Plymouth (Remote 1 day a month on-site)

Rate: £450 - £550 per day (umbrella)

Job Purpose:

Reporting to the Head of QA Engineering, you'll design, implement, and manage software testing, platforms, and tooling, both SaaS and on-premise. Your expertise will ensure system quality and performance while driving automation and operational excellence. You will be an advocate for Agile principles, fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaboration.

Key Responsibilities:

Design and deploy scalable, high-performance software in alignment with our operational and business goals.
Monitor and enhance the performance and reliability of large-scale distributed software platforms.
Develop automation solutions for configuration management, system provisioning, and deployment.
Conduct security testing to identify vulnerabilities and ensure compliance with regulatory standards.
Lead the resolution of platform outages or performance issues, implementing preventive measures.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate solutions and enhance system performance.
Implement and maintain automated test cases for microservices architecture.

What You Bring:

Strong knowledge of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP) and containerisation technologies.
Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps methodologies.
Understanding of Esri ARC Mapping.
Proficiency in scripting/programming languages such as Python, Bash, or PowerShell.
Experience with test-driven development and behaviour-driven development practises.
Deep understanding of large-scale distributed systems and network architectures.
Proven ability to troubleshoot complex system issues and perform root cause analysis.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effective collaboration across teams.
A Good Grasp of Security, Rapid7 would be helpful
