Senior Software Developer

A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Software Engineer to work for a Health-Tech software company, which is making technological advances and solutions that help the NHS. Having grown to almost 100 people, they are looking to bring on an experienced Developer to work within their back-end platform and systems integration team. This team uses a range of technologies including PHP, Laravel, MySQL and RabbitMQ

Location: Ideally Ipswich 2 days a week, although remote option available (must be able to travel to Ipswich, Suffolk twice a quarter) - must be UK based

Salary: Up to £65,000 per annum + benefits (with a clear salary progression path)

Requirements for Senior Software Developer

  • Strong commercial experience working in a senior software engineering capacity using PHP, Laravel & MySQL

  • Degree educated in Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Engineering or closely related subject

  • Ability to quickly pick up new technologies

  • Strong attention-to-detail

  • Great communication skills - this team is highly collaborative so they are looking to continue this with great communicators

  • Experience in the following is beneficial: RabbitMQ, JavaScript, React, Redis, Electron

    Responsibilities for Senior Software Developer

  • Working in an agile environment you will be working within the back-end platform and system integration team using a broad range of technologies including PHP, Laravel, MySQL, RabbitMQ, JavaScript, React, Redis, Electron

  • Understand business requirements and translate these into technical design and development tasks

  • Analyse and resolve complex technical issues

  • Identify and implement solutions to enhance system performance, scalability, and reliability

  • Advocate for best practices in software engineering within the wider team

  • Collaborate with and mentor other team members

  • Work closely with developers, product managers, and other stakeholders
