I’m recruiting for a Software Development Manager with  experience with Power Platform and (with Dynamics 365 a plus) to join my client on a 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.  They have an  office is in Trowbridge, Wiltshire and they would like someone who is happy  to go into the office one day a week with the rest of the team.
 
Their tech team works in an Agile SCRUM environment, managing all internal systems used across the business. They're currently undergoing an exciting transformation project, moving from third-party systems to Microsoft Dynamics 365. As part of this journey, they're looking for a Development Manager to manage a team of 6 developers, who all have experience with the Power Platform and data-related projects.
 
This is a fantastic opportunity to lead and manage a talented team, shaping strategy, providing technical guidance, and ensuring best practices are met. You will work with your team on high-level designs, breaking these down into user stories, and leveraging your technical expertise to guide the team in delivering impactful solutions.
 
Your role will include:

Managing a team of 6 developers, with a varied skillset ranging from Power Platform to data manipulation and ETL. You’ll guide your team in delivering projects that span across Microsoft Dynamics 365, Power Platform, Azure DevOps, and data infrastructure.
Leading Agile sprints, managing backlogs, workloads, and project timelines, ensuring the team stays on track to deliver results in a fast-paced environment.
Source control and deployment management – ensuring the team follows best practices for source control using Git and makes sure projects go live through the correct approval processes.
Overseeing the infrastructure for the Power Platform environment, including upgrades, feature management, and the implementation of tools like Copilot.
Working with stakeholders to manage business requirements and ensuring the team delivers against those needs while maintaining a focus on quality and efficiency.
Providing high-level technical solutions and designs for complex projects, breaking these down into actionable user stories that align with your team's skills and strengths.
Managing a mix of skill levels in your team, from experienced to newer team members, helping everyone grow and deliver results.
In addition, you’ll be hands-on when required, providing technical advice and support, ensuring the team follows Agile best practices and adheres to source control and deployment protocols.The ideal candidate will have:

Strong experience with Microsoft Power Platform and related technologies, including Power Apps, Power Automate, and Power BI.
A solid understanding of Dynamics 365 (a bonus, but not essential) and Dataverse.
Proficiency in Agile/SCRUM methodologies, including Azure DevOps, Git, and source control.
Proven experience in leading and managing teams with varied skill levels, providing mentorship, guidance, and ensuring the team is motivated and capable of delivering results.
Knowledge of data-related projects, including ETL, data manipulation, and data storage and analytics. Experience with implementing Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
Excellent stakeholder management skills, ensuring alignment between business needs and development delivery.
A hands-on technical background in infrastructure, including managing upgrades and features in the Power Platform environment. 
This role is primarily managerial, but your technical expertise will be essential for guiding the team and delivering solutions. You’ll work in a flexible environment, with a mix of remote and in-office work (1 day per week in the office on Wednesdays).
 
Salary: Up to £63,000 for the 12-month period.
