Software Engineer
Exciting opportunity for an experienced Software Engineer to join an innovative stealth start-up in Saffron Walden who are tackling some of the world’s most pressing challenges. Joining a company founded by experts in their field, who have already realised success with other start-ups, this offers the chance to work in an environment filled with technological innovation whilst working on cutting-edge tech.
Location: Saffron Walden, UK – fully on-site due to the nature of the role
Salary: £50,000 – £60,000 per annum
Requirements for Software Engineer

  • Solid commercial experience within a Software Engineering position
  • Proficient in Python
  • 1st class honours or high 2.1 degree from a top university in Computer Science, Maths, Physics, Electronics or similar.
  • Minimum of AAA at A Level or equivalent UCAS points
  • Must be proficient in Object-Oriented programming with a natural ability to pick up new programming languages
  • Strong problem-solving ability, with a proactive nature in asking questions to expand your knowledge
  • Any exposure to working with embedded or hardware development would be beneficial
  • Any experience with mobile app development on iOS or Android would also be helpful
  • Ideally, you will be in a position to qualify for SC Clearance due to the nature of some customers
    Responsibilities for Software Engineer
  • Work on multiple software development projects from prototype phase through to full products
  • Work alongside team members to design and develop software solutions addressing the company’s unique challenges.
  • Develop techniques for data collection, preprocessing, and optimisation to support machine learning and algorithm development.
  • Take responsibility for managing and maintaining operational company systems, primarily Linux-based.
